In order to help more customers, operators and partners to deeply understand the details and operating skills of laser cutting, we have combined years of practical experience to compile a set of "pit avoidance guides". Whether it is stainless steel, carbon steel, or nozzle, lens, gas selection... you can find the answer here.
Precision fiber laser cutting machine cutting stainless steel: (defocus amount is adjusted according to the thickness of the plate)
①: The higher the focus, the brighter its cutting surface.
②: The lower surface is hung with hard slag: the focus is too high, the speed is too slow, and the air pressure is too low.
③: The lower the focus, the rougher its cutting surface.
④: The lower surface is hung with soft slag: the focus is too low, the speed is too fast, the air pressure is too high, and the power is too high.
⑤: The inability to cut through is: the focus is wrong, the power is too low, and the speed is too fast.
Precision fiber laser cutting machine cutting carbon steel: (defocusing amount is adjusted according to plate thickness)
Hard slag on the lower surface is:
①: focus is too low; ②: air pressure is too low; ③: power is too low; ④: speed is too fast.
Rough cutting surface is:
①: focus is too high; ②: air pressure is too high; ③: power is too high; ④: material problem.
Selection of nozzle and lens for precision fiber laser cutting machine (cutting parameters)
1: Selection of nozzle and lens when cutting carbon steel:
①: Selection of lens:
When cutting 1-8mm carbon steel, use (5-inch) lens.
When cutting 8-10mm carbon steel, use (7.5-inch) lens.
②: Selection of nozzle:
When cutting 1-6mm carbon steel, use (Φ1.4) nozzle.
When cutting 6-10mm carbon steel, use (Φ2.0) nozzle.
2: Selection of nozzle and lens when cutting stainless steel with precision fiber laser cutting machine:
①: Lens selection:
When cutting 1-4mm stainless steel, use (5-inch) lens.
When cutting 4-6mm stainless steel, use (7.5-inch) lens.
②: Nozzle selection:
When cutting 1-3mm stainless steel, use (Φ1.5) nozzle. Cutting (nitrogen pressure) 10㎏-13㎏.
When cutting 3-4mm stainless steel, use (Φ2.0) nozzle. Cutting (nitrogen pressure) 13㎏-15㎏.
When cutting 5-6mm stainless steel, use (Φ2.5) nozzle. When cutting (nitrogen pressure) 14㎏-16㎏.
Types and functions of gases used by precision fiber laser cutting machine:
Air: ①: used as cutting gas ②: used as cooling cutting head ③: used as dust removal inside the optical path (protecting the lens and extending the service life of the lens)
General oxygen: used as gas for cutting carbon steel (combustion-supporting) purity 99.5%.
Pure nitrogen: used as gas for cutting stainless steel (cooling) purity 99.9% (cutting carbon steel speed is 3/4)
High-purity nitrogen: used as gas for lasers purity 99.999%
High-purity helium: used as gas for lasers purity 99.999%.
High-purity carbon dioxide: used as gas for lasers purity 99.999%.
Size of cutting hole of precision fiber laser cutting machine (distinguishing material and thickness)
① When cutting carbon steel plates within 8㎜, the hole diameter cannot be less than the thickness of the plate, and when cutting plates within 10㎜, the hole diameter cannot be less than 1.2 times the thickness of the plate.
② When cutting stainless steel plates within 4mm, the hole diameter cannot be less than the thickness of the plate. When cutting plates above 4mm, the hole diameter cannot be less than 1.2 times the thickness of the plate.
③ If the hole diameter exceeds the above range, use pulse cutting or marking.
Pulse cutting (relative to continuous wave cutting)
① The speed is 30-50% of the continuous wave.
② The power is slightly higher than the continuous wave.
③ The air pressure is about 2 times higher than the continuous wave. Continuous wave is used for perforation.
Perforation method (applicable to cutting carbon steel)
① Normal perforation: suitable for cutting carbon steel below 5mm.
② Progressive perforation: suitable for cutting carbon steel of 6-8mm. (The corresponding parameter P990012 must be modified)
③ Strong perforation: suitable for cutting carbon steel of 10-12mm (explosive perforation method).
The perforation height is not lower than the cutting height; the perforation air pressure is not lower than 1.0.
Parameters of lead-in wire (applicable to cutting stainless steel)
①When cutting 1-3mm stainless steel, a single method (cutting small circles or deceleration) is used.
②When cutting 3-6mm stainless steel, two methods (cutting small circles or deceleration) are used.
③The air pressure for cutting small circles is 1.5 times greater than the air pressure for cutting.
Burst hole:
①The perforation time is not enough.
②The air pressure is too high.
③The focus is wrong.
④The perforation height is too low.
⑤The pulse frequency is inconsistent.
⑥The power is too high.
